UNDERSTANDING HOW BAIL BONDS WORK.
To know why bail bond agents prefer certain payment methods, it's helpful to know what they do when you use their services. A bail bondsman takes a risk by acting as a guarantee for your loved one's release from jail. They pay the full bond amount upfront. As the client, you only pay a small part of the total bond amount as a fee for the bondsman's help.
ANY BOND. ANY JAIL. ANY TIME.
ASHLEY'S BAIL BONDS FAQs
WHAT IS A BAIL?
Bail is a legal process that allows someone in jail to be released until their court date. This helps them go about their daily life and prepare for their court appearance. To get bail, a specific amount of money is needed, posted either by the person in jail or someone on their behalf. This is a guarantee that they will attend all court appearances. It's crucial to understand that posting bail doesn't mean just showing up for the first court date; the person must attend all hearings as required by the court. The Eighth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution ensures everyone's right to reasonable bail.
WHAT IS A BAIL BOND?
A bail bond is a promise to show up for all court dates during a trial. It's a financial promise made by or on behalf of a person accused of a crime. If they don't appear in court as required, the bond is forfeited, and a warrant is issued for their arrest.
CAN I LEAVE THE STATE IF I AM OUT ON BOND?
Every case is different, so the judge will assign various terms according to the severity of the offense, your history, potential threat to the public, being a flight risk, and other factors.
